Is Jodi able to teach DJing and Music Production in any software?

Yes. Onboarding will tailor your services relevant to your unique circumstances, and guidance provides a universal theory for success on any platform or software.

Does Jodi have a preferred and or recommended software that he teaches through?

Yes. Cubase 14 Pro for Music Production, and Rekord Box for DJing, however Jodi is familiar with and uses an abundance of professional software - owning copies of Ableton, Logic, Reason, and FL Studio. Jodi is also self taught from a vinyl DJ background and can teach both analogue and digital DJing.

Do services teach patrons how to use software for Music Production and DJing?

Yes & No. This is patron’s service to customise how they want, and basic functions of your software of choice can naturally be covered but this is not considered the focus of tutoring Services, or foundational curriculum. However, Jodi appreciates that some patrons may actually benefit from having some one to interact with - to learn a software - rather than absorb or focus on information being shared, and so if this is valuable then it can be measured into the tailored session plans. Given that there is also so much information and ‘updates’ out there, it can be more economically inclined for Patrons to have spent time, or be committed to spending time, to independently learning their DAW of choice. Naturally aspects of this cross over amongst a universal theory of tutoring anyhow, and that this is one of many global aspects of music production.

Why does Jodi use Cubase 14 Pro?

Jodi learned in Cubase SX, and has since explored most of the available marketed Digital Audio Workstations (DAWS). A decade later Jodi was reunited in Version 10 of Cubase Pro, and is currently working in Cubase Pro 14. Jodi will be the first to admit the interface of Cubase makes for prehistoric creative work flow and at times lack of common sense, but the audio and metering representation is out standing and that the sound engine in Jodi’s bias opinion, is an absolute beast. Jodi has used pretty much every DAW over a timeline of 17 years and counting, and is excited to experiment with Ableton more over the course of 2024. Jodi has also used Logic for close to a decade and has found comfort in this DAW - which has a relatively clean presentation and work flow.

Do you provide DJ equipment for your Services?

No. Equipment rentals are very expensive and would be as affordable for patrons to acquire and purchase their own equipment, than being provided through services. Jodi does have a simple Pioneer controller that he uses for demonstrations but DJ patrons should have access to their own equipment to practice regularly, or at least outline this intention in the short to long term plan.

Does Jodi recommend Audio Software, Equipment, and or Plug-ins?

Yes. Jodi can discern the options available to you based on your circumstances, skillset, and trajectory and has the wisdom and foresight granted through experience and knowledge to guide you in budgeting and having awareness of what you have and don’t have. Services are tailored for patrons needs and if this is desired can be appointed as part of services.

Can patrons access both DJ and Music Production services at the same time?

Yes. This is at an occurring cost of two services, and why on boarding is always mandatory as this assessment also measures the cross skills and experience of both.
